The art for the Gallery Hop tomorrow is awesome! Come see some talented kids’ Lincoln pieces at my studio from 5-8. Displaying Turner and JHS student art inspired by Abe Lincoln in celebration of the bicentennial. Special thanks to JHS Art teachers, Mrs Dunseth and Mr Holmolka, and Jennifer Mallory Welch, Turner Art Teacher. Hope to see everyone downtown tomorrow night…
We at Karen Anderson Designs are excited to be a part of the second annual Silly Smiles for Sammy fundraiser. Silly Smiles was started in honor of Sammy Rogers, a wonderful 6-year-old boy who was diagnosed with FSGS (Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis) when he was 2 years old. This autoimmune disorder, along with Nephrotic Syndrome, causes damage to the filtering components of the kidneys. These disorders affecting the kidneys can have a staggering impact on the lives of those caught in their wake.
Here is how the fundraiser works… for a $40 donation to Silly Smiles, we will take individual pictures of you (and your family) making funny faces. With this, we will make a montage of 9 images on an 8×10 print. Kids (and adults alike) love these sessions as they are a lot of fun. 100% of this initial donation goes straight to Silly Smiles. For more information about Silly Smiles, go to http://www.sillysmiles.org.
We will be promoting this as well as taking appointments. at the February Gallery Hop, this coming Friday, February 6th. The Fundraiser will take place Friday, March 6 (during the Gallery Hop), and also on Saturday, March 7th. Call now to reserve your time on either of these days.
This Friday, December 7th we are having our Christmas Open House during the monthly Gallery Hop. There will be lots of Christmas goodies, examples of our Holiday Greeting cards and client work from this fall season, as well as a drawing for a $100 gift certificate towards goods and services. Please join us for the fun! Stay warm….

Karen Anderson Designs is proud to host the checkpoint “Women in the Military” display for the “Veterans Remembered” - an event to honor those who have served our country by being in the military. There will be activities, speakers, presentations, and open events at many locations downtown. The event is sponsored by Jacksonville Main Street, and the Jacksonville Journal Courier, and will be the kick-off for fundraising to preserve the Soldiers and Sailors Monument on the square.
We are offering discount portraiture vouchers for Veterans. Restoration services also available with discounts on reprints. Don’t miss out on the “Candy Canon”!
